Located just 30 kilometers west of Lisbon is the idyllic seaside town of Cascais. Technically, Cascais is a cosmopolitan suburb of Libson given the short commute, but in all honesty, it felt like we were worlds away.
This former fishing village gained popularirty in the late-19th century when the Spanish royal family decided to set up their resort home in the area. Nowawadays, in addition to being a cosmopolitan suburb of Lisbon, Cascais is a popular vacation destination for tourists, both foreign and domestic.
