When and why did you first start your site?
My site started in October because I was having a quarter-life crisis where I wanted to do something that would make me feel "accomplished" by the time I turned 20. It officially became Sincerely, Sabrina in March when I really kicked up my passion for blogging and fashion. Also, I'm a huge communications nerd and wanted to get firsthand experience on how quickly information could be disseminated.
Where do you get your inspiration?
For my style, basically anything that has clothes- people on the street, blogs, store fronts, etc.
For my writing, bloggers and designers. It’s a certain adrenaline of words that comes from and being inspired by the creative minds of people that I meet.
Who are your style icons?
I don’t really have a set icon since my inspirations are always changing.
As for style as a lifestyle, I hope that when I’m 70, I can be like my grandpa. Crisp shoes of different colours, sweater vests, and dress shirts to match? It’s from people like him that make grandpa styles a trend.
Describe your personal style.
Experimental. Usually over-dressed. It's whatever I feel like. If I wear grungy jeans downtown one day, I'm not afraid to wear a preppy skirt and heels to class on another. It's also highly based on whatever is on sale when I go shopping.
Where are some of your favourite spots to shop?
I might get some slack for this, but my dirty little secret (well, I guess it's not a secret anymore) is that I don't shop in Ottawa. I'm originally from Toronto, so when I go back home, I raid stores like Forever 21 with my family. Sometimes we'll do stateside outlet shopping too. It's like a family bonding activity.
What are some of your favourite trends this season?
I can't get enough of vintage-inspired accessories. Round sunglasses and wide-brimmed hats? Yes, please!
Style/Beauty Pet Peeves?
Why are you wearing UGGs in the summer? Why are you wearing salt stain covered, misshapen UGGs at any time of the year?!
What do you never leave home without?
My bracelet that was made from American dimes that my great-great-grandfather earned when he first came to the US. And my cell phone.
Where will you be in five years?
I'm gonna be like a superhero. By day, I'll be out in the typical workforce (maybe marketing?). By night, I'll be a fashion-blogger-event-hopper extraordinare!
