Layer Up: Friday-Saturday

It's another two-for-one outfit post courtesy of the Fashion Challenge: Layer Up!

I know I said that Thursday's Yeti Chic: Casual look was my favourite, and it was at the time, but it has since been replaced.

Friday: Jacket over Cardigan
I have a casual Friday uniform. It consists of skinny jeans, boots, a cardigan and a scarf. But after wearing this beauty of an ensemble on Friday I have a new Friday uniform. Not only was I comfortable and cozy in my sub-arctic office, but I felt put together, and I loved the pop of red.

Blazer - Talula from Aritzia; Sweater - Bluenotes - Tank - Smart Set; Jeans - Mavi; Boots - Aldo

Saturday: Dress over Pants
This is a trend that I haven't thought about since grade eight, but I was up for the challenge. Plus, it gave me the opportunity to wear my often neglected American Apparel tunic. I love the colour and it made for the perfect ensemble for the Sens-Leafs game - all of my friends will be cheering for the Leafs so I'll look like I fit in, even though I will be cheering for the Red Wings (I believe they can win any game, even the ones they aren't playing in). It will even be perfect when we make our way from the game to the pub.

Blazer - Talula from Aritzia; Tunic - American Apparel; Belt - Jacob; Jeans - Mavi; Boots - Aldo

These two ensembles will definitely be repeated throughout the season.

Inspiration Monday: Eva Longoria

It's been a while, but I'm back taking part in the Inspiration Monday challenge over at Two Birds.

The Inspiration:

My Take:

Blazer - Talula from Aritzia; Shirt - Jacob; Jeans - Mavi; Boots & Neckalce - Aldo; Belt - Bluenotes

I wore an outfit similar to Eva's during Ottawa Fashion Week SS12, so I decided to switch it up a bit with the stripes. This shirt is often neglected, but every time I wear it I love it. I'll have to bring it out much more this winter.

Questions? Comments? Compliments?

Ikat Be Any More Professional

It was a day full of meetings so I put on my most sophisticated outfit - that wouldn't cause me to melt in the summer heat - and off I went.

The black and white outfit on it's own was just a tad too professional for my liking and definitely too boring for the gorgeous summer day, so I added a pop of colour with my new ikat flats.

Not only were they the perfect pop of colour, but they allowed me to kick-up my heels and get from one meeting to the next with ease.

And, just in case it got chilly throughout the day - you never know with Ottawa, or my office, they love to crank the A/C sometimes - I threw on a red cardigan just for the fun of it!

Dress - Le Chateau; Blouse - SmartSet; Shoes - Aldo; Cardigan - Bluenotes;
This cardigan has been a piece of my wardrobe for years - back when Bluenotes was still known as Thrifty's. That's just one of the perks of being petite - clothes that you bought at an embarassingly young age still fit!
