Colour Infusion
Sweater - Forever 21; Skirt - Jacob; Heels - Nine West; Watch - Fossil
Now that I'm finally back and feeling (somewhat) healthy, I decided it was time to infuse my work wardrobe with some colour and fun. And, I thought what better way to do so than to wear one of my favourite forgotten pieces and my snakeskin Nine West heels?!
A simple yet chic look which was perfect for a Wednesday in winter.

The Final Countdown
Sweater - Old Navy; Skirt - Jacob; Shoes - Nine West
Happy Friday everyone!
The countdown is officially on! In just four short days I’ll
be on the other side of the Atlantic, exploring the city of Stockholm. It's something I've wanted to do for so long and I can’t believe it’s coming up so
quickly.
This weekend is going to be a busy one. I still have so much
to do before I leave. I now regret all of the hours I spent watching 30 Rock
re-runs this week when I could have been productive.
Scratch that, I will never
regret watching 30 Rock – Tina Fey is awesome.

What a week!
Tank - Smart Set; Skirt - Jacob; Shoes - Nine West; Necklace - Aldo; Watch - Fossil
From surprise Snoop Dogg tickets to last minute Bridal Shower/Engagement Party details to trips to the Russian Embassy, last week had it all. And, although it was all fun and games (literally at one point) I'm exhausted. Who knew so much fun could leave a lady so tired?!
For the last few months I've been co-organizing a Bridal Shower/Engagement party with my friend's sister and this weekend, after countless emails and phone calls, it finally all came together.
And, it was fabulous!
Family and friends traveled from near and far and we all got together in Kingston for one amazing day of sunshine, BBQing, backyard games, and celebrating the bride- and groom-to-be.
I can proudly say the party was a huge success - an astonishing feat when you consider there were four generations of two families at this fete - but now I'm more than ready to put my feet up and relax.
Bring on the weekend!

Willpower
Blouse - ASOS; Skirt - Jacob; Pumps - Nine West; Watch - Fossil
I have no willpower, which, according to my interpretation of this
LearnVest article, is because I don't drink enough juice. Okay, I know that's not exactly what they're saying, I just want an excuse to drink juice (MinuteMaid fruit punch is one of my vices).
Regardless of how much, or how little, glucose is in my system, I have absolutely no willpower when it comes to shoes.
One day after uttering the words, "I really don't need anymore
shoes..." I went and bought these Nine West platform Mary Janes. It wasn't my fault. I'd seen them days before while wandering through Rideau and displayed excellent willpower at the time.
Fast forward two days and I couldn't stop thinking about them. That's when I realized that I had nothing
like them in my closet; plus, they were 50% off, so it would have been stupid not to buy them - don't you love my attempts at
rationalization?!
Really, all it comes down to is that I have
no willpower, and after wearing these to work earlier in the week, I have no
regrets.

Inspiration Monday: the Duff Sisters
I'm cheating a little bit with this Inspiration Monday challenge. Okay, I'm cheating a lot.
I wore this outfit a couple of weeks ago to a casual Sunday brunch, but when I saw this week's inspiration I thought it fit the mold perfectly.
The Inspiration - The Duff Sisters:
My Take:

A great combination of casual and put-together.
This shirt has special meaning; not only is it super cute and showcases my inner bookworm, but it was made by a good friend of mine, Lola Tsai.
Inspired to change the world, Lola wrote a poem, entitled For My Girls, which aimed at empowering young girls across the globe to set out and reach their full potential. The poem then became a picture book and inspired this t-shirt.
I highly recommend you check out Lola's blog: Lola Light and Love, and to learn more about For My Girls or to order yourself a copy of the book or one of these super cute t-shirts, click here.
And don't forget to check out the other Inspiration Monday posts.

Everybody, Everywear
Today, I'm linking up (for the first time) with the Everybody, Everywear challenge, which this month is coloured tights.
My first instinct was to wear all black, to make the tights pop; but then I figured I'd mix it up with a touch of grey and a little bit of purple.
Check out the rest of the other entries at Everybody Everywear. Looking forward to the November challenge!

June Gloom
As I was getting ready for work a few days ago, I couldn’t help but think how there was no truer statement to describe the weather than June gloom. The sky was grey, the rain was falling, it looked as though it would never be sunny again.
I followed suit with my ensemble, choosing monochromatic grey, black and white - all the way down to my choice of nail polish - but accented it with a pop of blue, just to lift the spirits a little.
It was also the perfect opportunity to break out my new-to-me Nine West pumps, a fabulous find at Value Village this past weekend. I don't normally like to buy used shoes (or used anything for that matter) but they are in near perfect condition - too good to pass up!
Because it was freezing that morning I threw on a cardigan to avoid hypothermia, not that I minded, they are some of my favourite pieces of clothing, just not in June.
Hopefully this gloom passes soon; I'm ready for sunshine and sundresses!
